The Times Of India has identified the “playboy” model Bhrahima Bharti as the woman who was allegedly sexually assaulted by Playboy model Pankaj Mishra in 2015.
She is a former Miss India who worked for Playboy between 2006 and 2013.
“We are working with the police and are probing the case.
The incident happened in 2010, when Mishra was working for Playboy,” an official of the Mumbai police said on condition of anonymity.
He said Mishra had filed a police complaint about the alleged incident and had been shifted to a private hospital in 2015, where he died.
Mishra, who is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter, was reportedly found dead in his hotel room on February 17, 2016.
He had alleged that Mishra sexually assaulted him on two occasions at his hotel in 2012 and 2015.
A medical report has alleged that he died of natural causes.
He was also reportedly the son of a prominent businessman and was known to have frequent encounters with Playboy’s top models, including model Anupam Kher.
He reportedly claimed that the incident took place when Mishras family was in the process of moving to Mumbai.
The official added that the investigation was ongoing.
